7.5. 2016 - 5.6. 2016
Spring, ice and its melting have been thematic starting points for the installation and soundscape made in collaboration with sound artist Eero Pulkkinen.
The installation is based on the core element of photography: light. Outside of the gallery space there is a light sensor that measures variations in light and controls the soundscape inside. The sound is real time image of the light conditions outside and it is reflected in the gallery space as audible resonation. On a sunny day installation sounds different than on a cloudy day.
The sound has been designed site-specifically. Composition is based on the resonating frequencies of the glass. Resonators are placed on the glass plates so that the surface of the glass is emitting the sound.
